Senior ClearCase Administrator
(July 1998 - Present)This position entailed technical support of the configuration
management system and to develop processes and tools to integrate its usage throughout the
software development organization. Support was required across a heterogeneous mix of Unix
systems and Windows based platforms.
My accomplishments include:
 | Participated in software repository architecture and planning. Provided
technical input to budgeting and planning. |

Senior Software Release Engineer
(1994 June 1998)I was hired primarily to take software
development from a CVS based software process to a one based on modern configuration
management tools. After an extensive survey of available systems, I recommended the
purchase of ClearCase by Atria, Inc. The new system has been in use for approximately 2
years.
My responsibilities included:
 | Software configuration management (SCM) and change control technical support. |
 | Multiple platform software builds, release, package mastering (CDROM, flash memory
cards, customer specials). |
 | Management of the code exchange process supporting joint development with a partner
company on a leading network computing product. |
 | Engineering tools support. |
 | Train and manage additional release support staff. |
 | First line system administration of build and development hosts and network. |
Major accomplishments included:
 | Lead the conversion from CVS to ClearCase. Implemented process control triggers. Tuned
the computing environment for best performance. Provided developer training and
documentation. |
 | Implemented nightly builds. Automated web based process status. Decreased build times
from 10-15 hours to 4 hours on average. Web based process documentation. |
 | Designed and implemented the joint development process with our partner company.
Provided technical support for their CM staff. |

Senior Software Engineer
(July 1984 - 1994)My last responsibility was to redesign the software
development process including developing a new configuration management system (DAPCON)
written in C++.
I was employed in the Design Automation group as a software engineer responsible for
development and maintenance of large software systems, which support the design, and
manufacturing of mainframe computing systems. I wrote and maintained major software
programs in C & FORTRAN. I additionally participated in college recruiting and company
quality training. |
