- 1 8 ft wide sliding glass door.
- 1 8 ft wide window with a half circle over an
XOX rectangular window.
- 1 6 ft wide window with a half circle over an
OX rectangular window.
- Technology is vinyl with Low-E double glazed
glass with UV coefficient of .33 or .32, SHGC (Solar Heat Gain
Coefficient) of .33 or .34, Visible light transmission of .58.
The installer caused a crack in one of the windows
and one window screen had bits of caulk stuck to it. The company called
everyday to check on the progress of the install and I notified them of
the cracked window and soiled screen. They will be replaced within a
week.
At this point I am very happy with the product. I
will post a few before and after pictures soon. |

impressions |
Initial sales person was unimpressive. They left it up to
me to determine if a permit or inspection will be required. The branch
manager was more informative.
On 8/16/06 in-home measurements,
rep said that I would have to remove the window treatments and blinds
but that if during installation, the installers found the brackets needed to
be removed, they would do it. He said that they would replace the inside
molding around the sliding glass door with primed wood but I would have to
paint it. It will also not match the profile of the other trim in the dining
room. The installers would remove and then replace the frame on the
outside of the house around the sliding door. Owner should check with the
final measurer on how far the alarm sensors will need to be moved and then
contact the alarm company to move the wires before window installation
begins. |
Very professional in-home consultant. Very
knowledgeable. Listened well. Returned calls promptly. Don't know if this
will translate well to the installers since there were customer complaints
on the web about after sales lack of interest in problems. She noticed a
little mold on the sliding glass door and family room window aluminum
frames. Thought
code requires smoke detectors in all bedrooms. The vendor will pull permits. |
|
The guy who came to measure didn't listen well and
didn't do what I asked. The office person who called with the quote did not
have sufficient details of the quote.
Later requested price on atrium window only. So far it
has taken a very long time for them to get back to me. Not a good impression
on response time. |
